Im falschen Leben

Marie plans to return to work one year after giving birth to her daughter, Nora. Her husband, Holger, is preparing for a two-month parental leave during which he intends to be fully present for their child. However, their lives are suddenly thrown into emotional turmoil when they are informed by the youth welfare office that their child has been swapped at the clinic. The other mother, Sandra, is a single-parent student who has been raising Marie and Holger's biological daughter. While Sandra appears to cope relatively well with the situation, Marie is deeply overwhelmed. Sandra's circumstances lead to tension with Holger, as Marie cannot accept the idea of "her" daughter being raised by a financially struggling single parent. When the media becomes involved, the situation escalates beyond control, leaving no choice but to exchange the children.
