Detective Dave Robicheaux races to link a prostitute’s murder to a powerful New Orleans mobster while uncovering a 35‑year‑old death hidden in the swamp, forcing him to confront deadly secrets that threaten both his case and his own sanity.

Synopsis
Lt. Dave Robicheaux, a detective based in New Iberia, Louisiana, is attempting to connect the murder of a local prostitute to New Orleans mobster Julie (Baby Feet) Balboni, who is also a co-producer of a Civil War film. Concurrently, after Elrod Sykes, the film's lead actor, reports discovering another corpse in the Atchafalaya Swamp near the movie set, Robicheaux initiates a second investigation, suspecting the body to be that of a Black man he witnessed being killed 35 years earlier.
