Interviews with My Lai Veterans
Synopsis
This documentary features interviews with five former American soldiers who were present during the March 16, 1968 attack on the village of My Lai in the Vietnam War. The soldiers discuss the orders they received prior to the attack, their expectations regarding what might be found in the village, and the events that followed, including the massacre of the civilian population and the destruction of the village. The interviews also explore possible motivations behind the killings and rapes that occurred. The film was preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2002.
