Intoxicated by Love

Mevlana Jalal al-Din Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic whose life was deeply transformed by his friendship with Shams Tabrizi. Their relationship, which began in Konya, is often described as one of profound spiritual and emotional connection. Rumi and Shams spent long hours in deep conversation and shared spiritual practices, and their bond became central to Rumi's spiritual awakening. Shams had a significant influence on Rumi's poetry, inspiring much of his most celebrated work.
