Io ti assolvo
Synopsis
A quiet provincial town is thrown into turmoil by the murder of its parish priest. Father Francesco (Gabriel Garko), a young priest sent to replace him, initially maintains a calm demeanor but soon finds himself confronted by a stranger who confesses to the killing, warning him to remain silent or face the same fate. Father Francesco then follows the investigations led by Commissioner Lariano (Lorenzo Flaherty), choosing not to reveal what he knows while working to prevent an innocent man from being wrongly accused. In doing so, he begins to uncover the hidden secrets of prominent local figures. The situation becomes more complicated with the arrival of a young prostitute who bears a striking resemblance to the woman Father Francesco loved before becoming a priest. As the present and past become entangled, more crimes and disturbing revelations emerge.
