Synopsis

The stunts and action set pieces for the 2006 James Bond adventure *Casino Royale* were designed to emphasize realism and physicality, a departure from the more elaborate and gadget-laden sequences of previous Bond films. Directed by Martin Campbell, the film features a high-stakes poker match in Montenegro, a brutal fight scene in a luxury hotel, and a dramatic bungee jump sequence in which Bond escapes from a collapsing dam. The film's opening sequence, in which Bond engages in a violent hand-to-hand combat with a group of assassins in a Portuguese village, was particularly praised for its intensity and choreography. Stunt coordination was handled by Andy Armstrong, with additional stunt work by veteran stunt performer and former Bond actor Timothy Dalton. The film's action sequences were performed by Daniel Craig and a team of stunt doubles, with minimal use of CGI to maintain a grounded, visceral feel. *Casino Royale* marked a return to the origins of the Bond series, with its action sequences reflecting the character's raw, unpolished nature as portrayed by Craig.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 13

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
