Synopsis
Jerry Lewis, following in the tradition of Chaplin, Keaton, and Laurel, brought audiences laughter through his visual gags, pantomime sketches, and signature slapstick humor from an early stage in his career. Beyond being a comedian, Lewis was also a pioneering filmmaker driven by an unquenchable curiosity, which led him to write, produce, stage, and direct many of the films in which he appeared. His work resulted in such beloved classics as *The Bellboy*, *The Ladies Man*, *The Errand Boy*, and *The Nutty Professor*.
