Synopsis

Billy Casper, a 15-year-old working-class boy from Yorkshire, faces bullying at school and neglect at home from his indifferent mother and older brother. He finds solace in taming and training a pet kestrel falcon, which he names Kes. With support from his English teacher and classmates, Billy begins to discover a meaningful purpose in his difficult life.
