Krapp's Last Tape
Synopsis
*Krapp's Last Tape*, written in English in 1958, features an old man who reviews his life and assesses his situation. The audience learns about him not from the 69-year-old man on stage, but from his 39-year-old self, whose voice is heard on a tape he chooses to listen to. On the "awful occasion" of his birthday, Krapp has the habit—then and now—of reviewing the past year and "separating the grain from the husks." He isolates memories of value, fertility, and nourishment to set against the creeping presence of death "when all my dust has settled." It is one part of 19 parts for the series *Beckett on Film*, featuring filmed versions of Beckett plays. Some were screened at the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival and others on Channel 4 television in the UK in June 2001.

How many hands made this film
The scale of the collaboration
Principal cast & crew: 8
These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.
Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
