Synopsis
China is in turmoil as the Republic succumbs to warlords, among them Kahn Xin, who controls a province through the opium trade and eliminates all who resist him. The revered Wudang monks are the only ones daring to oppose Kahn in defense of China's spiritual integrity. One of them is White Crane, a Westerner and master of martial arts who protects the innocent. Initially, revenge is not in Crane’s heart—until a mercenary army attacks the temple and kills the beloved female Grandmaster Myling. Emerging from the temple's ruins, Crane now carries vengeance in his heart. He encounters Jane Marshall, a New York lounge singer, and her gangster boss Bingo Quo. It is Bingo’s dangerous business connections to Kahn that draw both Crane and Jane into the warlord’s domain. Now caught between the spiritual teachings of Wudang and the brutal reality of an assassin’s life, Crane is on the verge of crossing the line between justice and revenge.
