Synopsis
The documentary *People on the Stairs* examines through 21 testimonials "the most emotional part" of what occurred on October 1 at the IES Pau Claris in Barcelona. The school was protected by local residents in the morning when the Spanish police, tasked with preventing acts of violence, attempted to enter the premises to stop the independence referendum. The footage of police officers seen pushing people down the stairs became the most widely shared images in the global media and on social networks; it is estimated that 40 million people viewed the footage. *People on the Stairs* is a TV3 production, with the collaboration of Minoria Absoluta.
