La Mosca y Sus Peligros
Synopsis
*The Dangers of the Fly* is an educational film directed by Ernesto Gunche and Eduardo Martínez de la Pera, who also co-directed *Gaucho Nobility* (1915), the most successful film of Argentine silent cinema. Martínez de la Pera was a skilled cinematographer known for his interest in new equipment and techniques. The film explores microphotography in a manner similar to Jean Comandon's work for Pathé and is part of a series that also included a film about mosquitoes and malaria, and another about cancer, both of which are now considered lost. Flies were a common theme in silent cinema, and more than a dozen films featuring them were produced in the 1910s and 1920s.
