Synopsis
In 1942, more than 8,000 Jews were arrested on July 16 and 17 and taken to the Vélodrome d'Hiver sports center in the 15th district, located near the Eiffel Tower, before being deported. The term "Vel d'Hiv round-up" has become a key part of collective memory and serves as a central reference for France during the wartime period. Drawing on research from unpublished or rarely accessed archives, the film reconstructs the history of the roundup from the perspective of both the targeted Jews and the police involved, tracing it from its planning in Vichy offices to its progression hour by hour through the streets of Paris.
