Synopsis
At the end of the 19th century, young Fanning completes his studies in theology at the University of Cambridge. During a walk through the countryside, inspired by the reading of romantic novels, he discovers an abandoned house from which an old man is emerging. He returns to the house regularly, never seeing its mysterious inhabitant. Fanning eventually encounters the old man sitting on a bench at the cemetery and manages to earn his trust.
