Synopsis
Claude Cloutier's animated short offers a visual depiction of an attack on Canadian soldiers during World War I. On the battlefield's edge, recruits await anxiously the order to advance. Upon the signal, a young soldier plunges into a scene of fire and blood, where the ground swallows both the living and the dead. The film combines archival images with Cloutier’s distinctive brushstrokes to create a striking portrayal of war's senselessness.
