Synopsis

The legend of Lady Godiva recounts her fabled ride through the streets of Coventry while completely naked. According to the tale, Lady Godiva, the wife of Leofric, Earl of Mercia, made a request to her husband that he lift the heavy taxes imposed on the townspeople. Leofric, skeptical of her plea, agreed only if she rode through the town uncovered. Though reluctant, Godiva honored the promise, covering herself only with her long hair. The townspeople, respecting her vow, remained indoors and shut their windows, allowing her to pass without being seen. The story has since become a symbol of sacrifice and the tension between public duty and personal honor. While the historical accuracy of the event is debated, the legend has endured in English folklore and inspired numerous artistic and literary works.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 12

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
