Land of the Midnight Fun

A cruise to Nome, Alaska, begins with a series of humorous observations about the cruise ship: it pulls out of the harbor like a car, raising its bow as it lifts the anchor, and follows the coastline by curving around it. Upon arrival, the passengers witness various local scenes: a penguin eats two fish and is then eaten by a third; the dogs of a dog sled stop behind an iceberg at a telephone pole; and a timber wolf circles the area shouting "Timber!" Two Eskimos rub noses, with the woman first applying lipstick to her nose in preparation. An Eskimo nightclub, a necessity given the six-month-long nights, features a rotoscoped ice skater. As the ship departs, it becomes trapped in fog near New York; when the fog lifts, the ship is revealed to be perched atop the World's Fair Trilon.
