Synopsis

In the town of Host, Missouri, Dr. Eli Rudkus, a newly arrived veterinary scientist, is summoned by farmer Jacob Long to examine one of his cows. During the examination, Eli discovers a strange parasite in the animal and sends a sample to a friend at the Department of Agriculture for further analysis. Later, he finds the same parasite in a local creek and calls for a public meeting, warning that the source may be the animal feed. Fletcher Odermatt, the wealthy owner of Host Tender Meals, a company that has been supplying free animal food to local farmers, responds by bringing in his lawyer, Hayley Anderson, to challenge Eli's claims. When a massive mutant parasite attacks Eli and Jacob, they uncover the truth: the animal feed is an experimental genetic cocktail designed to grow parasites inside both cattle and humans. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 24

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
