Synopsis
Schleißheim Palace, located near Munich in Bavaria, Germany, was the filming location for Alain Resnais's 1960 film *Last Year at Marienbad*. The palace is situated close to the Dachau concentration camp, where thousands of people were killed between 1933 and 1945. The juxtaposition of these two sites has inspired reflections on the themes of time, memory, and history, as well as the contrast between beauty and horror, life and death.
