Synopsis
It is October 1955 in La Chapelle-Basse-Mer, a village in Loire-Atlantique, where an aging clog-maker lives and works with his wife and their adopted son. The film portrays the clog-maker's craft with meticulous care and affection, highlighting the precision and artistry of his work. At the same time, an impending sense of death looms over the quiet, routine life of the elderly couple.
