Les mouettes
Synopsis
A quiet village in the hills of Provence is disrupted by the arrival of an unusual group of vacationers. Who are these attractive young women from the city, strolling through the village square under the strict supervision of a beautiful and commanding chaperone? Scandal ensues when it is revealed that they are, in fact, employees of a brothel in Marseille, there to enjoy the countryside's fresh air. The village is thrown into turmoil as its residents take opposing stances on the presence of these "ladies of pleasure." The mayor is called upon to remind the women of the region's moral standards. However, they cannot be forced to leave, as they have no intention of working and no law prohibits their stay. Clashing attitudes emerge, passions flare, and love begins to blossom. And doesn't love, in the end, always find a way to resolve everything?
