Letter to My Mother for My Son
Synopsis
Carla is pregnant and naked, reenacting the poses her mother took during her own pregnancy. Sunlight streams through the windows. The film includes Super-8 footage of mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, engaged in activities such as smiling, sewing, and reciting poetry. A young girl moves chronologically from the 1960s to the 1980s and into the present, navigating the transitions of femininity and historical change, until she meets Carla by the Blue Sea of Catalonia and encounters Manel, Carla's newborn son.
