Synopsis
When a prominent newspaper accuses wealthy socialite Connie Allenbury of being a home-wrecker, she responds by filing a multi-million-dollar libel lawsuit. The publication's overburdened editor-in-chief, Warren Haggerty, is forced to find a way to counter her claims. His stressed fiancée, Gladys Benton, and his charismatic friend, Bill Chandler, soon become involved in a plot to undermine Connie, leading to a series of amusing and unforeseen consequences.
