Synopsis
They call it "blue gold." Around the world, demand for water is rising rapidly. By 2050, at least one in four people will live in a country experiencing water shortages, creating favorable conditions for a new market. Banks and financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, HSBC, UBS, Allianz, Deutsche Bank, and BNP are investing billions of euros in ventures related to water. A real water monopoly is emerging. From California to Australia, from New York to London via Marseille, the financialization of water is being examined. New power dynamics are forming, and access to water is under threat. The battle is unfolding on multiple fronts: ideological, political, environmental, and economic. The outcome will affect nearly 10 billion people worldwide.
