Synopsis

Just before Anniela and Robert are set to move to Singapore, where they had planned to get married and for Robert to join the family business, Anniela discovers her fiancé with his former girlfriend. The relationship ends immediately, and she leaves for Singapore alone. There, she reunites with her old friend Ming Lee, the director of a cultural center for underprivileged children. Anniela takes a job teaching German and also offers music lessons to the children. Soon, she falls in love with Dai Si, one of her language students. However, Dai Si has not been truthful about his identity. To avoid losing Anniela's affection, he conceals the fact that he is the son of a wealthy industrialist who intends to demolish the cultural center to build a casino. Anniela eventually learns the truth about her lover and, now twice heartbroken, prepares to leave Singapore and return home. Yet, the power of true love proves difficult to suppress.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 19

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
