Synopsis
The scene consists of only two long shots in which three witches predict that Macbeth will become king of Scotland. Encouraged by this prophecy, Lady Macbeth persuades her husband to kill King Duncan, who is visiting their home. This act of regicide plunges Macbeth into a dark spiral that leads him deeper into guilt and madness.
