Synopsis
Kenneth Anger was a distinctive figure in post-war American culture, known for his work as a filmmaker and author of *Hollywood Babylon*. His short films are marked by a mystical-symbolic visual language and a phantasmagorical-sensual richness that highlights the transgressive potential of the medium. Anger's work had a significant influence on the aesthetics of 1960s and 1970s subcultures, shaping the visual language of pop and music videos as well as queer iconography.
