Mardi Gras Carnival
Synopsis
The film is part of Eye Filmmuseum’s Mutoscope and Biograph Collection, which comprises approximately 200 films preserved on their original 68 mm format. The digital file provided was scanned in 2022 at the Eye Collection Center from a 35 mm duplicate negative created in 1998. Following the initial analog preservation efforts from 25 years ago, Eye is currently undertaking the digital restoration of the Mutoscope & Biograph Collection. "Mardi Gras Carnival" has drawn particular attention due to its inclusion in the "The Artistry of REX" exhibition, which opened in the summer of 2022 at the Louisiana State Museum.
