Synopsis
Thai Lamai had envisioned "the beautiful piece of earth" differently when she arrived at Joe, her newlywed husband, in snowy Upper Bavaria. Instead of a warm welcome, her father-in-law, Hans, wants to drive her from the farm. Matters worsen when, after a passionate night of love, Joe is found dead the next day from a heart attack. Now the young widow, unexpectedly named the sole heir to the entire property, must contend with Hans, who, according to Joe's last will, retains the right to live on the land for the rest of his life.
