Synopsis
Baker Katharina Achternhagen and pastry chef Alberto Puccini have been neighbors for nearly 20 years. Their opposing views on baked goods have led to mutual disdain. While Puccini specializes in rich, sugary treats, Achternhagen focuses exclusively on wholemeal products. Both run successful businesses with loyal customer bases that have remained steady for years. The quality of their offerings is evident in their accolades: Puccini has repeatedly won awards from the bakers' guild, and Achternhagen's Kraftmeier bread has also received multiple awards. This year, Achternhagen additionally won the cake competition with its diet cake. This success is largely attributed to the new chairman of the bakers' guild, Günter Zichorius, who has secretly fallen in love with Achternhagen.
