Synopsis

The film examines the characteristics and pioneers of several subgenres within metal music, such as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, power metal, nu metal, glam metal, thrash metal, black metal, and death metal. Dunn employs a family-tree-style flowchart to illustrate the development and relationships among some of the most prominent metal subgenres. It also delves into different elements of heavy metal culture.
