Mickey's Surprise Party
Synopsis
Minnie is baking cookies when she briefly leaves the room, allowing her dog Fifi to accidentally drop popcorn kernels into the dough. Mickey and Pluto arrive to visit with Minnie and Fifi. Upon noticing something burning, Mickey alerts Minnie, who realizes the cookies are popping due to the popcorn. Upset, Minnie lies on the sofa and begins to cry. Mickey then goes out and purchases a large quantity of cookies and crackers, returning to show them to her, which lifts her spirits and makes her overjoyed. The short was originally a theatrical advertisement for the National Biscuit Company (now Nabisco), featuring various Nabisco products such as Ritz Crackers, Oreo Cookies, and Fig Newtons. These branded products were later removed and replaced with generic brands in television broadcasts and home video releases.
