Middle Ages Now
Synopsis
Set in Sweden at the beginning of the 18th century, the story takes place in a society where public executions are a common form of entertainment and brothels are a normalized part of life. Despite their roles, both the executioner and the young prostitute are outcasts, despised by the community. The executioner took on his role unwillingly, while the 17-year-old girl was forced into prostitution. The narrative follows their unexpected meeting, as they navigate a complex relationship in which cruelty is replaced by tenderness and guilt by innocence.
