Roma Singh is a journalist and the daughter of a jailer. During a tour of the jail, she is molested by some inmates, and Vishal Agnihotri, one of the prisoners, comes to her aid. She discovers that Vishal is serving a sentence for four homicides and decides to look into the case further. With the help of Jindal, the owner of her publication, she uncovers the truth: Vishal was driven to take the law into his own hands after the courts failed to hold accountable those responsible for the assault and murder of his sister and sweetheart. After completing his sentence, Vishal is released and begins working for Jindal. As he adjusts to his new life, he realizes he has merely moved from a physical prison to a metaphorical one, as the reality of his release and the forces behind it gradually become clear to him.
