Gaza is a 14‑year‑old boy living on Turkey’s Aegean coast who, together with his domineering father, assists in smuggling refugees from war‑torn countries to Europe, providing them with temporary lodging and limited food before they attempt the crossing. He wishes to escape this life but finds himself drawn into a world of immorality, exploitation and human suffering, questioning whether he can avoid becoming a monster after being raised by one. The film is Onur Saylak’s debut feature and adapts Hakan Günday’s award‑winning novel of the same title, one of the first novels to document the European refugee crisis, presenting a gripping story of a boy growing up where innocence has no place.
