Synopsis

Roger Hobbs, a banker, hopes to spend his vacation alone with his wife, Peggy. However, Peggy insists on a family trip to a beach house in California, which turns out to be unattractive and in poor condition. Their daughter Katey refuses to go to the beach, embarrassed by her braces, while their son Danny, who is addicted to television, also declines to participate. When Hobbs' two other daughters, both unhappily married, and their husbands join the family, he must assist everyone with their issues in order to find some peace.
