My Sweet Little Village

The film follows Otík, a gentle young man living in a close‑knit village where his parents have died and he is cared for by the family of his older colleague, Mr. Pávek, an assistant truck driver. Although Pávek employs Otík as his helper, the two clash when Otík cannot complete even basic tasks, prompting Pávek to request that Otík be reassigned to work with another driver, a irritable and distrustful man named Turek. Instead of joining Turek, Otík accepts an offer to work in Prague, but he struggles to adapt to urban life. He later learns that his transfer was part of a scheme by a corrupt politician seeking to acquire Otík’s sizable inherited house. Recognizing the deception, Pávek gives Otík another chance, retrieves him from the city, and they resume working together.
