Next Door
Synopsis
The story is set in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district, where a successful movie star named Daniel lives in a stylish loft with his wife and a nanny who looks after their children. His life is orderly, bilingual and ready for him to travel to London for an audition for an American superhero film that promises a role for the celebrated German‑Spanish actor. While at a local corner bar he encounters Bruno, who has been waiting for this moment for a long time. Bruno, described as an eternally overlooked man—one of reunification’s losers and a victim of the gentrification of former East Berlin— decides to take revenge, targeting Daniel.
