On the Ice
Synopsis
An Inuit hunter leads his dog team across the frozen Arctic Ocean in search of seals, but instead encounters a murder. In the tightly knit communities of Arctic Alaska, anonymity is rare — the hunter recognizes both the victim and the murderer. The murderer, asserting self-defense and fearing consequences, pleads with his friend to ignore what he has witnessed and assist in hiding the body. The hunter must grapple with the difficult moral choice of respecting the body and memory of one friend while potentially ruining the life of another.
