Synopsis

Jackie Turner is a straight-A college student who endured childhood abuse, abandonment, and starvation. Despite overcoming these challenges, the holidays remain a painful time for her. Faced with another lonely holiday break on campus, Jackie places an ad on Craigslist titled "My ONE CHRISTMAS Wish - a family for Christmas," offering to pay $8 an hour. Surprised by the overwhelming response, she receives numerous heartfelt invitations and letters of support. She also hears from other young people experiencing the same sense of emptiness from spending the holidays without family. Inspired by their shared struggles, Jackie decides to organize a large Christmas party, with the last-minute help of her adviser, friends, and support group, to connect families with those in need and find one for herself as well.
