Synopsis
When James reveals to his mother that he is gay, it challenges her sense of being a liberal and open-minded parent. Audrey, a businesswoman from San Diego, is shaken by the news. The situation becomes more complicated when James asks her to accompany him to Arkansas to inform his lover's estranged mother, Luanne, that her son has AIDS. As Audrey and Luanne gradually overcome their mutual prejudice, they begin to open up to each other, sharing their thoughts, hopes, and fears for their sons.
