Out of the Woods

In the film, Matt, a self-absorbed young attorney, travels to visit his grandfather—an eccentric recluse living in the backwoods without gas, electricity, or a phone—in an attempt to convince him not to give away his estate. However, by the end of the story, it is Matt who is ultimately convinced to make changes in his own life. Jason London and Ed Asner star in the film. The plot follows a woman who turns to her irresponsible son to care for her aging father (played by Ed Asner), despite his inability to manage his career, love life, or finances. Desperation leads Matt (Jason London) to visit his grandfather in a remote home. Struggling to adjust to the barebones lifestyle, Matt eventually meets a single mother who helps him discover the value of a simpler way of living.
