Synopsis
In 1899, a photographer working for American Mutoscope & Biograph mounted his camera on the front of a trolley traveling over the Brooklyn Bridge. The three 90-foot film rolls he shot were edited together to complete the journey from Manhattan to Brooklyn, resulting in the film *Across the Brooklyn Bridge*. For the re-opening of its facility, the Museum of Modern Art commissioned American avant-garde filmmaker Bill Morrison to take this historic footage and recombine it with itself to create a new split-screen extrapolation.
