Synopsis
This film explores how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have engaged in a "race to the bottom" in television news, offering an in-depth look at Fox News and the societal impact of a large portion of media being controlled by a single individual. Media experts, including Jeff Cohen (FAIR), Bob McChesney (Free Press), Chellie Pingree (Common Cause), Jeff Chester (Center for Digital Democracy), and David Brock (Media Matters), provide context and insight into the story of Fox News and its influence on society. The documentary also reveals insights from former Fox News producers, reporters, bookers, and writers who describe what it is like to work for the network. These former employees discuss how they were pressured to promote a "right-wing" perspective or face job loss. Some have chosen to remain anonymous to safeguard their current employment.
