P.T. Barnum
Synopsis
This series chronicles the life and career of P.T. Barnum, often regarded as America's greatest showman and promoter. It begins with him as a young man managing an elderly woman who was purportedly George Washington's nursemaid, and follows his rise to success through his promotion of curiosities and attractions, marked by a blend of truth and imagination. He gained notoriety for promoting his museum and figures such as the midget General Tom Thumb. However, the demands of his business take a toll on his family life, which is marked by hardship and tragedy. Throughout, the narrative builds toward his most famous endeavor, the Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus.
