Peculiarities of the National Hunt
Synopsis
A Finnish researcher traveling to Russia to gather material for a study of Russian hunting traditions and customs is invited to join a hunting party. His colorful companions include an army general who bears a strong resemblance to Aleksander Lebed, a police detective, a local forest ranger who practices Zen Buddhism, and several urban acquaintances from St. Petersburg. Their initially well‑meaning plans soon give way to extensive drinking, visits to local farm girls, and other activities.
