Picknick im Schnee
Synopsis
Johannes Breutigam, a successful architect, faces a crisis on New Year's Eve. His wife is having an affair, his business partner Losfeld has betrayed him, and his company is close to bankruptcy. Overcome with despair, he rents a hotel room on the 32nd floor, writes a farewell letter to his wife, and opens the window in preparation to jump. A young woman is found standing on the window sill of the adjacent room, seemingly ready to do the same. After promising to spend the last night of the year together, Johannes manages to save both her and himself—at least temporarily. What follows is a strange, romantic, and comical story set on a single New Year's Eve, in which two people begin to change their lives.
