Synopsis
A small stage features a backdrop depicting a city street, complete with sidewalks, a park, and buildings. From stage right, a boy enters, leading a blind man onto the stage. He helps the blind man kneel with his hat and cane placed in front of him. The boy then places a sign reading "pity the blind" around the man's neck before exiting. A man in a bowler hat walks by, dropping a coin into the blind man's hat. Two well-dressed women then enter, engaged in conversation.
