Plötzlich Opa
Synopsis
Jonas Ettenberger is thirteen years old when his parents die in a traffic accident. As a result, he is placed under the care of his grandfather in rural Bavaria by the youth welfare office, far from his home in Hamburg. Adjusting to life in the countryside and the Bavarian dialect proves challenging for both Jonas and his widowed grandfather, who has only just met him. However, Jonas soon finds a friend in his new classmate, Julia Stelzer. Meanwhile, Jonas's uncle, Harald Messner, discovers that his nephew has inherited a significant amount of money. Although Harald and his new wife, Sonja, live comfortably in Munich, they are eager to gain greater financial benefit from Jonas. They petition the youth welfare office for custody, and their request is granted. Despite his growing happiness with his grandfather, Ludwig, and the housekeeper, Rosi, Jonas is forced to return to Munich.
