Synopsis

The audience enters Porky's movie theater, greeted by a series of quick gags: a firefly acts as an usher, a kangaroo takes tickets and stores the stubs in her pouch, and a chicken buys child tickets for her eggs. A skunk attempts to buy a ticket, which costs a nickel, but he only has one scent. He looks for a way to sneak in. Meanwhile, Porky introduces the show, which consists of a collection of cartoons drawn as stick figures. By the end, the audience has left because the skunk successfully sneaked in. Porky's cartoons include: Circus Parade, Choo-Choo Train, Soldiers (Marchin), Horse Race, and Dances (hula, Mexican hat, and ballet). All are accompanied by a self-parody musical score.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 6

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
